Program Highlight: YTP!
If you happen to be at North Bend High School, you might want to check out the South Coast ESD YTP Brew Crew for a hot cup of coffee. The school's YTP program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on campus and in the community.
By participating in programs such as the Bulldog Brew, Spill the Beans Coffee Roasting, Signs and Designs, and the Bulldog Youth Food Pantry, students can learn valuable skills such as communication, problem-solving, and adaptability.
The Bulldog Brew, for instance, not only teaches students how to make great coffee but also how to handle customer complaints or respond quickly to unexpected situations. Meanwhile, students who help out at the Food Pantry get to experience the satisfaction of helping others while learning about important skills such as empathy, communication, and confidentiality.
YTP is designed to help students gain practical experience in various areas such as Job Exploration, Work-Based Learning Experiences, Post-Secondary Education, Workplace Readiness, and Self-Advocacy.
