DEPARTMENT MISSION:
Working in partnership with schools served by South Coast ESD to meet the needs of children and their families facing the educational challenges of the 21st century.
DEPARTMENT SERVICES:
At the request of schools in Reedsport, Coos & Curry counties, our department assesses children who are having problems in the developmental areas of cognitive, social, academic, emotional/behavior, visual-motor, and life skills. These services are contractual with each district. We provide workshops to school districts on classroom management, behavior plans, parent training, administration of academic testing, grief, and ADD/ADHD. We are a part of each schools' student study team which assists school personnel in identifying at-risk and low functioning academic students.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Our department is comprised of school psychologists, educational consultants, and a department secretary.
