Parent Advocacy

SCESD and our partners recognized the value of parent education and voice. With a focus on equity, inclusion and the elevation of parent voice the Parent Advocate will connect parents to agencies and resources to meet needs and support family health, create new and reinvigorate existing parent partnerships already in place regionally, provide parents with access to quality Parent Education, facilitate a regional Parent Advisory Council and support events like Focus Groups and Family Cafes where important information can be shared and gathered.

  • Parents/caregivers are actively and authentically engaged in decision making processes of local programs/organizations.
  • Families experience reduced disparities in accessing programs.
  • Local programs/organizations have a better understanding of family’s needs and preferences within the region.
  • Increased opportunities for parent leadership. Parents feel empowered to advocate on behalf of their children and family needs.

The following is South Coast ESDs Customer Assistance Survey. The survey should take no more than 5 minutes. There are a total of 20 questions in the survey that focus on guiding principles in four core areas; Growth, Professionalism, Sustainability and Quality Service. The responses will be utilized to inform the ESD about its practices and help us to set priorities, develop goals, and make adjustments in the future. Take the survey here.
