Suicide Prevention

Tuesday, December 1, 2026 · 4:00–5:30 PM

You don't have to be a counselor to help save a life. "Be Sensitive, Be Brave for Suicide Prevention" is a free, culturally infused workshop that prepares community members to recognize when someone may be struggling and connect them to help.

In this 90-minute session, you'll learn how to:

  • Identify the warning signs of suicide

  • Ask someone directly, with sensitivity and confidence, whether they are considering suicide

  • Connect people with the right support

  • Approach suicide prevention in a culturally sensitive way

  • Respond to community needs and help reduce stigma

The South Coast Education Service District and the South Coast Regional Educator Network are hosting the workshop, and it's open to all community members. No prior experience is needed.
