community listening session for the Governor's Early Childhood Care & Learning Systems Roundtable is happening in Coos Bay on July 20, 2026, 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the Coos History Museum (1210 N. Front Street). Dinner is provided.
Who's hosting: Children's Institute, The Ford Family Foundation, South Coast Early Learning Hub, Care Connections Child Care Resource & Referral, and SOWIB.
Who should attend: Early learning professionals, families, employers, school districts, child care providers, and other community stakeholders.
Focus (Phase 1): Strengthening existing early childhood programs — covering family access to care, workforce recruitment/retention, facilities needs, quality improvement, and maximizing current resources. Input will feed into recommendations for the Governor and state leaders. Later phases will tackle expanding infant/toddler care and preschool access.
